Jakia S. Jones, 12, of Troy, passed away 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Dayton Children's Hospital, Dayton. She was born in Buffalo, NY on July 22, 2002 to Carl Jones, Jr. of Buffalo, NY and Rebecca Ward of Thomasville, NC, and they both survive.

Jakia is also survived by her grandmother, Jean Bishop "Mom" of Troy who was raising her; brothers, Carl E. Jones, III of Buffalo, NY, Jahari Ward of Troy; grandmother, Patricia Jones of Buffalo, NY; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Carl E. Jones, Sr., and her two cousins, Dionanna J. and Dejah J. Alexander-Bishop who were her "sisters for life".

Jakia was a 7th grade student at Troy Junior High School in Troy. For her hobbies, she enjoyed fundraising, joking and playing, dancing, french fries, socializing, and participating in activities at the Lincoln Community Center, Troy.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Transformed Life Church, 421 Wood St., Piqua, Ohio with Pastor Brian Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the church on Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy following the service.
