John Robert Goff, 65, of Piqua passed away 10:50 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Morgantown, WV on September 14, 1948 to late Robert Goff and Beatrice (White) Salisbury, who survives and resides in Morgantown, WV. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Goff and step-father, Marvin Salisbury.
John is also survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John Robert Goff II of Troy, Jason and Amy Goff of Tipp City; his companion and best friend, Teresa Norris of Dayton; his sisters and brothers-in-law and brothers and sisters-in-law, Cherry and Bruce Sprague of Princeton, NJ, Mark Goff of Morgantown, WV, Sue and Chuck Hamilton of Parkersburg, WV, Vicki and Jeff Phillips of Savage, MN, Kevin and Marla Salisbury of Morgantown, WV , and Keith Salisbury of Morgantown, WV; two grandchildren, Nathan and Allison; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a 1966 graduate of Morgantown High School in Morgantown, WV. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Troy Eagles #971. He worked for G. C. Murphy Co. (Ames) from 1968 to 1989 as operations manager and later was owner of the former Lawn Doctor business and most recently retired from Avenue Logistics of Troy after 19 years of service. He had wished he had more time for hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420, in his memory.
