John A. Hedrick, 83, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born in Davis, W. VA on February 20, 1931 to the late Denver and Bernice (Brace) Hedrick. He was married to Jean Robbins on December 19, 1970, and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2012.

John is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen "Steve" and Kathy Adams of Troy, John and Becky Hedrick of Detroit, MI, David and Kathy Hedrick of Detroit, MI; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bryan O'Toole of Troy; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosanne Williamson of Syracuse, NY, and Jane Gerdeman of Dayton. John was also preceded in death by one sister, and six brothers.

John was a member of Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City. He was a graduate of Parsons High School in Parsons, W. VA. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Troy American Legion Post# 43. He retired from Truck Driving with Associated Truck Lines in 1991.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Lay Pastor Virgil Gallagher officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington.
