John Beckham Massie, age 92 of Troy, passed away 4:35AM Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 11, 1932 in Tacketts Mill, KY to the late John Beckham Massie, Sr. and Myrtle (Bramlette) Massie.

He was married to Elaine Smith Massie on December 24, 1951 and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2024. He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Those left to cherish John's memory include his daughter Johnna Massie of Troy, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John became a born-again Christian as a teenager and carried his faith throughout his life. He was a US Air Force veteran, having served from 1951-1970. Upon his discharge, he became a semitruck driver and drove his tractor trailer for 26 years before retiring. In his retirement years, John spent his time doing yardwork and making sure his lawn looked pristine! John was a great provider for his family until the end.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00AM Saturday, November 2, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Troy . Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
