Mr. John Mark Porter, age 58 of Vandalia, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.

Mark was born to John Paul and Dorothy June on October 15, 1959 in Pikeville, KY. He grew up as the youngest of four and attended Mullins High School. Mark had been a respiratory therapist for over 30 years serving in both home health and hospital settings. He was very compassionate with his patients and cared deeply for their well-being.

Mark is survived by his spouse, Matt; son, Matthew (Janell); daughter, Bethany (Mike); son, Daniel; daughter, Katie (Kevin); sister, Deborah; brother, Jimmy; and eight grandchildren (in order of family) Brooklyn, Raegan, Jack, Ethan; Elijah, Baylor; Rilynn, Aubrianna.

An open house memorial service will be held at his home (516 E. Alkaline Springs Road, Vandalia, OH) on December 9th from 2-6pm. There will be a short memorial service at 5:30pm. The family is grateful for condolences and donations can be made in Mark's name to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton: 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.
