Katherine E. Ray, age 102 of Piqua, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Piqua Manor. She was born August 16, 1916 in Kessler, OH to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Stephan) Kessler.

Katherine is survived by her three children: Scott (Liz) Ray of Nordland, WA, Kathleen Ray of Aurora, CO, and Judy Van Dusen of Wheat Ridge, CO; three grandchildren: Dean Ray (Suzy) of WA, Heather (Carlos) Miller of Dayton, and Alex Bond of CO; great-grandson Scott Ray of WA; daughter-in-law Isabel Ray of Dayton; as well as many nieces and nephews including Janet (Jack) Estey of Troy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest D. Ray; son Jon Ray; grandson Greg Van Dusen; two sisters: Vera Walker and Doris Welbaum; and brother Emerson Kessler.

Katherine was a graduate of Troy High School and a member of First United Church of Christ in Troy where she previously served as Deaconess. She was also a member of the Troy Chapter of O.E.S. #256.

A funeral service will be held 1:30PM Monday, August 27, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Lauren Allen officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:30PM-1:30PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Church of Christ or Hospice of Miami County.
