Katheryn (Ufheil) Young, age 92 of Troy passed away at 5:45 P.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Sterling House, Troy. She was born June 2, 1922 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Albert James and Grace Iona (Cost) Ufheil. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack O. Young on December 31, 2007.

She is survived by her  sister-in-law Kathleen Griffin of Piqua, 3 nieces Ann and Michael Welch of Troy, Cindy and Richard Shepherd of Troy, Marilee and Scott Lyman of The Villages, Florida, 2 great nephews, Matthew (Jessica) Welch and their 2 daughters Ava and Jada; Nicholas Welch and great niece Jessica Ufheil.  She was also preceded in death by her brother William Ufheil and his wife Billie and their son Douglas Ufheil, brother-in-law Wenzel Griffen, 2 great nephews Zack Lyman and Will Ufheil.

Katheryn was a graduate of Lostcreek High School, retired June 1, 1984 as Director of Miami County Human Services along with retiring from the Ohio Welfare Directors Association. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #256 of Troy, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Troy. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her family.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Fisher Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Ty Williams officiating. Interment to follow at Casstown Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
