Kathleen “Kay” Lutz, age 85 of Troy, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. She was born June 29, 1940 in Massillon to the late Raymond “Ray” and Sarah (Hammel) Remley.

Along with her parents, Kay was preceded in death by sons Steven Swartz and Timothy Lutz; daughter Tammy (Lutz) Gulley; and two sisters.

Those left to cherish Kay’s memory include her husband John E. Lutz; sons Robert Swartz (Penny) of Sun City West, AZ, Jeffrey Swartz (Candis) of Troy, and Thomas Lutz (Deanna) of Lombard, IL; daughter Terri Lynn Brown of Minster; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; as well as sisters Rosann Janser of Chicago, IL and Polly Thompson (D. Richard “Red”) of Troy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
