Kent L. Boyer, age 69 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born January 22, 1948 in Troy to Nelson Boyer Sr. and Martha (Durst) Boyer.

Kent is survived by his father Nelson Boyer, Sr. of Troy; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Magen Boyer of Hilton Head Island, SC; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Matt Simmons of Troy; three grandchildren: Katy Lou, Maxwell, and Judah; brother and sister-in-law Nelson "Ned" Boyer, Jr and Mary Kay Boyer of Troy; and sister Martha "Cookie" Osborne of Troy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha.

Kent was a US Air Force Veteran. He was a 1966 graduate of Troy High School and a member of the Upper Room Worship Center in Tipp City, where he loved to volunteer. He retired in 2004 from BF Goodrich after 31 years of service as a maintenance electrician.

A funeral service will be held 6:00PM Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Upper Room Worship Center: 648 N. Hyatt St., Tipp City, OH 45371 with The Rev. Gregory Simmons officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00PM-6:00PM prior to the service. Memorial donations may be given to the church's building fund or one's favorite charity.
