Lawrence D. Bretland, age 83 of Troy, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County, Troy. He was born on March 8, 1938 in Minster, OH to the late Lawrence E. and Alma E. (nee Coble) Bretland.

Those left to cherish Lawrence's memory include his brother Robert Bretland of Monroe, OH; sisters Judith Hemmert of Troy, Carol Byrkett of Troy and Doris Shepherd of Liberty Township, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. He enjoyed working on his Corvette and was a founding member of Corvette Troy which started in 1966. He managed Pure Oil Gas Station for many years and retired from the City of Troy, working at the water treatment plant.

A memorial service will be held from 4PM-6PM on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. A private interment will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
