Linda Jo Weng, age 72 of Cape Coral, FL and formerly of Troy, OH, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at her residence. She was born March 8, 1953 in London, England to Larry Gordon Gwinn and Patty Carey Gwinn Evans.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Tom Weng in 2014; father Larry Gordon Gwinn in 1999, brother Larry Gwinn in 1988, paternal grandparents Elmer and Martha Simmons Gwinn, and maternal grandparents William and Imogen Masterson Carey.

Those left to cherish Linda's memory include her mother Patty Evans of Troy; her children Scott Hermann Velez of Cape Coral, FL, Angela Sturgeon (Roger)  of Piqua, John Hermann (Nicci Morgan) of Charleston, SC, and Tammy Chandler (Willie McCoy) siblings Ginger Karnehm  (Randy) of Piqua, Debbie North (Bob) of Troy, and Melody Lewis of Tipp City; 16 grandchildren, including Kimberlee Bonsanto, whom she raised most of her life,  and 25 great-grandchildren.

Linda graduated from Troy High School and attended Upper Valley Adult Career Center and Edison Community College. She was a member of Troy Gospel Tabernacle. She had previously worked as a nurse for Ohio Home Healthcare, as well as an EMT for Troy. She also for AO Smith for a period.

Linda was active in HeadStart programs as well as Troy little league football and was a booster's president. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed working in her garden and doing crafts. Linda's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the sparkle of her eyes, and she cherished the time she spent with them.

A graveside memorial service will be held 3:00PM Thursday, September 11, 2025 in Casstown Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Make A Wish Foundation.
