Luine Chambers-Smith, age 90, was born on December 22, 1935, and passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at her residence in Troy, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
Luine was born in Walnut Hill, Florida, to George Dewey Stein and Erline (Dennis) Stein. She attended Earnest Ward High School in Walnut Hill and continued her education at Eastern Nazarene College in Wollaston, Massachusetts, as well as Harford Community College in Churchville, Maryland. She dedicated many years of service as a phlebotomist at Atmore Community Hospital (Baptist Hospital) before retiring.
Luine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Luine Hayman (Gregory Hayman), Patricia Bayless (Jonathan Bayless), and Rachel Johnson (Lance Johnson).
She was lovingly known as "Gigi" to her many grandchildren: Weston and Hannah
Chambers, Sarah Hayman-Gabriel, Mike Cronin, Scott and Birdy Bayless, Simon and
Tori Hayman, Jessica and Jason Hart, Emily Hayman, Ryan and Amanda Bayless, Jasmyn Chambers, and Emilia Chambers, Shelby and Preston Johnson. She was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren.
Luine was preceded in death by her son, James Chambers; her daughter-in-law, Emily Chambers; and her grandson, Mark Cronin and her husband's Weston Chambers and Dale Klippel.
She had a passion for traveling the world and found great joy in sharing stories of her journeys with others. Above all, Luine loved her family and friends and held a deep and abiding faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.

Private family services will be held in Ohio with further services to be held at a later date in Alabama. Burial will be in Pine Barren Cemetery in Davisville, FL.
