Marcia Neher Ekstrom, 78, of Dayton, passed away 4:25 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Dayton on June 11, 1936 to the late Harold and Louise (Kemp) Neher. She was married to Jonathan O. Ekstrom, and he survives.

Marcia is also survived by two step children; one brother, Dr. Richard Neher of Cincinnati; one sister and brother-in-law, Karen and George Mousaian of Kettering; and one niece and her husband, Melanie and Jim Beyerle of Kettering.

Marcia was a member of Fairhaven Church in Kettering. She was a graduate of Fairview High School and The Ohio State University with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She was an Occupational Therapist in charge of two V.A. hospitals in Dayton. She later was an elementary school teacher for several years until her retirement.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd., Kettering. Interment was held in Studebaker Family Cemetery, Tipp City. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
