Marlene Ann (Baehr) Irey passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Troy, OH.

Born August 16, 1939 in Marion Ohio to Walter and Tressie (Brookens) Baehr.

She graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1957.

On June 22, 1957 she married Leslie Irey, who survives. They celebrated 67 years of marriage this year.

After nearly 10 years of service with the former GTE, she left to raise their only son Timothy Martin (Lisa) Irey who survives.

Marti, as she was known was an avid "crafter" and decorator for her home in Troy but also their cottage at Grand Lake St. Mary's in Celina, Ohio. She would scour the country shops for ideas and nix knacks. She also loved to travel to Las Vegas with her lifelong friend Sharon Rinnert to play "the slots".

But her life joy, in addition to her family was her two grandchildren Allison and Xander Irey whom she fussed over and bragged about. Allison is a grad of Ohio University and Xander attends Hocking College.

In recent years Marti was challenged with numerous health issues. She was unfortunately an invalid until her passing.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, Oh.

Mrs. Irey was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Gary Baehr.

A celebration of life service will be held 10:00AM Saturday, July 20, 2024 at First Lutheran Church, Troy with Pastor Alliyah Blakeley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marti's memory may be given to the Miami County Animal Shelter. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
