Martha M. (Lawrence) Avey, Milford, Ohio, formerly from Troy, passed away July 29, 2023. She was born October 16, 1924 in Troy to the late Erwin Dalton and Harriett McMath Lawrence, and graduated from Troy High School in 1942.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd J. Avey in 1992, and brother, Erwin E. (Woody) Lawrence in 1998. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, Troy, and formerly employed by Dinner Bell Foods and Avey Services, Inc. In Milford, she was a member of Faith Church and active in Women's Bible Studies.

She is survived by daughter, Rebecca Avey Buckalew of Loveland, OH; son, Richard and Ann Avey of Sherwood, Ark.; and daughter, Janet and David Zender of Maineville, OH. Also surviving are grandchildren: Michael & Laurel Buckalew, Opelika, Alabama; David and Mindi Buckalew, Cedarville, Michigan; Kristyn and Brian Lewis of Maineville, OH; Elizabeth Buckalew of Murietta, CA; Sara and Jonathan Rupp of Maineville, OH; David "Dries" and Lisa Zender of Chicago, IL; and Zachary and Taylor Zender of North Richland Hills, Texas; five great grandsons, Evan Michael Lewis and Aiden Cole Lewis, Thomas Sewell Buckalew, Koa Tin Zender, and Rhett Alan Zender; and one great granddaughter, Jordan Chisolm.

Memorial services will be held at Faith Church, 5910 Price Road, Milford, OH on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10AM. Funeral service will be Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2PM with visitation an hour before at Riverside Cemetery Chapel, Troy officiated by Martha's son, Pastor Richard L. Avey. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to First Baptist Church, Troy, or Faith Church, Milford.
