Martha Cain, 69, of Troy, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Troy on May 17, 1945 to the late Ralph W. and Marva Edythe (Hawkey) Cain.

Martha is survived by one niece, Sarah Cain and her son Biko of Portland, OR; and her two cousins, Bruce Kelly, and Joyce Haugherty. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Cain.

Martha was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Troy. She was a graduate of Troy High School and earned a Masters Degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy from the University of Michigan. She was a retired Speech Therapist with Riverside Developmental Disabilities and RT Industries of Troy. She was the President of the Country Workshop Artists in which she was the Co-Chairman of the 2015 CWA Sale and she was also in charge of the Scholarship Committee. She volunteered with the Troy Skating Club, the Presbyterian Church Breakfast Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Hayner Cultural Center. Marti was very devoted to her family and friends. She had a caring and generous heart and was always willing to help others. She was a proud University of Michigan Alumni and an enthusiastic patron of K's Hamburger Shop.

A Celebration of her life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 18th at First Presbyterian Church, Troy. . Arrangements are entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Contributions may be given in her memory to Miami County Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, or any of the organizations she volunteered with as noted above.
