Obituary

Marvin Andrew Shoup, age 97 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Versailles Rehab and Healthcare Center. He was born on December 30, 1928, to the late Raymond and Ruth (Flatter) Shoup.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty on January 24, 2019; son Andrew B. Shoup on February 7, 2016; grandson Ryan Luke Wulber on August 23, 2010; and brothers Allen Shoup, Roger Shoup; and sister-in-law Pauline F. Shoup.

Marvin is survived by his daughter Rebecca Wulber (Ronald) of Versailles, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Shoup of Westport, CT, five grandchildren; Rachel L. James (Nathan) of Covington, Russell L. Wulber (Josie) of Yorkshire; John A. Shoup of Los Angeles, CA, Annie Shoup of Boston, MA, and April Hoying (Dan) of Russia, seven great-grandchildren Aubrey and Nora Hoying, Gideon and Hannah James, Luke, Brody and Hadley Wulber; and sister-in-law Jacqueline Leonard (James) of Piqua.

Marvin was proud to have served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He worked at various companies, Hobart Manufacturing, Ochs Tool & Die, Kerr’s Office Supply and retired in 2013 from ADCO at the age of 84. He had a passion for photography and took his camera everywhere while also taking wedding photos for 26 years. Most importantly, Marvin loved God and his family deeply. He was tremendously proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a soldier in the Lord’s army. He was a tool in God’s hand, and he lived every day with the joy of the Lord as his strength.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Monday, June 22, 2026, at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Don Solin officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home prior to the service.

Interment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Troy with the Veterans Honor Guard.
