Mary Martha "Marty" Johnston, age 70 of Troy, passed away peacefully at 1:22AM on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at StoryPoint, Troy. She was born November 5, 1953 in Piqua to the late Arthur and Marcella (Fischer) Bell.

Along with her parents, Marty was preceded in death by infant sister Martha Elaine; her brother-in-law Mike Terry; and sister-in-law Kathleen Hoban Bell.

Those left to cherish Marty's memory include her husband Richard "Dick" Johnston; sons Charles "Chuck" Johnston of Cincinnati, TJ Johnston (Erin) of Troy, Pete Johnston of Columbus, and Pat Johnston (Emily) of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Olivia, Jake, and Van; as well as siblings Tom Bell (Laura) of Piqua, Judy Terry of Piqua, Jack Bell (Lesa) of Cincinnati and Tampa, FL, Peg White (George) of Piqua and Orlando, FL, Betty Elliott (Chuck) of Troy, Dan Bell (Mary) of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Marty attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua and retired as an x-ray tech from the former Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

A memorial mass will be held 10:30AM Friday, February 16, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua with Fr. Eric Bowman officiating. Inurnment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Marty's name to Lehman High School, Sidney. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
