Maurice E. "Mo" Williams, 87, of Greenville and formerly of Troy, passed away 8:40 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born in Arcanum on December 3, 1926 to the late Ward A. and Hattie A. (Nyswonger) Williams. He was married to Patty Louise (Snyder) McNelly on August 15, 1957, and she preceded him in death on September 16, 2012.

Maurice is survived by his step-daughter and her husband, Jill and James Stevenson of Troy. He was also preceded in death by his step-son, Jeffrey McNelly; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Dorothy Williams, Byron and Dorothy Williams, and Paul and Donna Williams.

Maurice was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Troy. He was a 1945 graduate of Arcanum High School School. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of West Milton Lodge #577 F&AM where he was past Master in 1966 and O.E.S. Chapter #132, West Milton. He worked at the Chrysler Corporation, Dayton as an Engineer and later he retired from Omega Automation, Dayton. He enjoyed Fishing and watching the Cincinnati Reds.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington with Military Graveside Service preformed by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, Troy. Contributions may be given to the Brethren Retirement Community, 750 Chestnut St., Greenville, Ohio 45331, in his memory.
