Nelson F. Smallenbarger age 91 of Troy, passed away Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Koester Pavilion. He was born July 22, 1924 in Troy to the late Harold and Eva (Shaneyfelt) Smallenbarger.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Beatrice and Roger Newman of Troy, granddaughter Rachel (Nathan) Tester of Troy and great-granddaughter Victoria Newman.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lilly (Gearhart) Smallenbarger, who passed away October 12, 2006, as well as three brothers: Robert, Richard and Douglas Smallenbarger.

Nelson was a US Navy veteran, serving our country in WWII.  He worked for the Miami County Dairy Company where he helped deliver milk to all of Miami County. He worked and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he was an accountant. He was a member of Troy Church of the Nazarene and he attended Tipp City Church of the Nazarene.

A funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Ron Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be 6PM-8PM on Monday February 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Troy. A Military Service will be held at the graveside by the Veterans Memorial Guard of Troy.
