Norma Jean Florkey of Troy Ohio at the age of 88 passed away on Thursday March 5th 2026 peacefully at her home. She was born December 21st 1938 in Dayton Ohio to her parents the late Clarence Lee and Jenny Elizabeth Florkey of Troy Ohio.

Along with her parents Norma Jean was proceeded in death by her sisters Beverly Johnston of New Carlisle Ohio, Marilyn (Micky) Debrosse of Troy Ohio and Barbara Pearce of Middletown Ohio, brothers Richard Florkey Dayton Ohio, Billy Florkey of Troy Ohio.  her sons James Florkey Piqua Ohio, David Hornbeck Michigan and Bobby Thobe of Sidney Ohio. Norma Jean was also proceeded in death by a very dear and close friend Dinah Miller of Troy Ohio.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Vickie Smith, Mary Taylor (Gary) of Troy Ohio and Ann Collett of Florida. Norma Jean leaves behind 12 grandkids and 24 great grandkids (to many to list them all). Norma Jean also leaves behind a very close and dear friend to her for many years Kat Stewart of Troy Ohio.

Norma Jean belonged to several clubs in the area (Eagles,Redmens and the Amvets) to name a few. She was an exceptional bowler, card player and shuffle board player in her day. She enjoyed her family and friends from the clubs. Anyone that knew Norma Jean she lived life to the fullest enjoyed going fishing and camping, her Ohio State and Bengals football teams her Nascar racing, her smooth dance moves and just enjoying life. Norma Jean loved going to Fla to spend time with her daughter Ann and her friends she made along the way. She will be missed by many who all knew her.

A Celebration of Norma Jean's life and memory will be announced at a later date by family Thank you all who loved and will cherish your memories of her.
