Orie Melvin Crabtree, age 70 of Troy, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018. He was born July 16, 1948 in Portsmouth to the late Ernest E. and Norma (Sexauer) Crabtree.

Orie is survived by his wife Beverly A. (Neff) Crabtree, whom he married on April 2, 1966; son Melvin (Jamie) Crabtree of Troy; three daughters: Carla (Todd) Marlow of Covington, Lena (Scott) McCabe of Huber Heights, and Melissa (Karl) Keuper of Beavercreek; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Eugene Crabtree of Troy, Phillip (Cathy) Crabtree of Troy, and Kenny Crabtree of Troy; and sister Marilyn Archie of Troy.

He was preceded in death by son Edward Lee Crabtree; as well as five sisters: Nancy, Mary, JoAnn, Beverly, and Donna.

Orie enjoyed racing cars and was a skilled mechanic. He also loved camping and fishing. He was previously employed with Spinnaker Coating for 17 years as a machine operator.

A graveside service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday September 19th at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Miami County: PO Box 502 Troy, OH 45373.
