Richard Leon “Dick” Baker, age 88 of Piqua, passed away 10:20AM Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy. He was born September 17, 1937 in Dodge City, KS to the late Samuel and Zulia (Allen) Baker.

Along with his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his siblings Talytha Baker, William Baker, and Byron “Barney” Baker; as well as brother-in-law Jerry Sluss.

Those left to cherish Dick’s memory include his wife Barbara (Lavey) Baker, whom he married March 1960; sons Randall Baker (Carla) of Piqua, Michael Baker (Robin) of Piqua, and Kenneth “Kenny” Baker of Piqua; daughters Tamara “Tami” Miller (Don) of Florida and Cynthia Schverak (John) of Florida; sister Joyce Sluss of Sidney; as well 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Dick was a US Marine Corps veteran, having served from 1954-1960. He was a member of St Boniface Catholic Church in Piqua and Troy Fish & Game.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
