Richard Dusenbury, 76, of DeBary, Florida and formerly of Troy, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 28, 1936 to the late Harold and Lyda (Williams) Dusenbury.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lola; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and R.C. Woodbury of Bonneau, SC, Michelle and Jessie Stevens of Jacksonville, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Karen Dusenbury of Piqua; two step-daughters and husband, Margie and Rick Polhamus of Fletcher, Jackie White of Kissimmee, FL; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Louis and Grace Dusenbury of Newark, Ohio, Chub and Nancy Dusenbury of Troy, Donald Dusenbury of Newark, Larry Dusenbury of Newark, and Gilbert and Carolyn Dusenbury of Newark; two sisters, Ella Mae Decker of Newark, and Frances Ohde of Newark. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Jeff Boals; six brothers; and one sister.
Richard retired from Industry Products in Piqua in 1995. He moved to DeBary, Florida in 1996. He played lead guitar for Dottie & the Country Four for 18 years in the Troy area and was a talented musician. He was a member of the Troy Elks #823 for 34 years. In Florida, he played Banjo for 10 years with Bitter Bluegrass Band.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Nick Beam officiating.
