Richard Lee Free, Jr. age 67 of Troy, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born September 14, 1958 in Piqua to the late Richard Lee Free, Sr. and Virginia (Howard) Free.

Those left to cherish Richard's memory include his wife Linda (Burns) Free whom he married March 23, 1993; son Joshua Combs of Troy; daughters Dawn Combs (Bo Robbins) of Troy and Tiffany Combs of Columbus; sisters Teresa and Donna; as well as grandsons Logan, Darrian, Jared, Travis, and Jacob, and several nieces and nephews.

Richard attended Amanda United Methodist Church in Middletown. He retired from Dayton Freight after 5 years of service as a trailer mechanic. He had previously worked as an over-the-road truck driver for several years. Richard was a member of Troy Fish and Game and had recently joined Troy Eagles #971. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He also loved to travel and taking walks with his wife. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns fan.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00PM Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Michael Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM prior to the service.
