Richard Dean Myers, age 86 of Georgetown, KY and formerly of Troy, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at his home. He was born August 23, 1936 in South Charleston, OH to the late Earl and Evadine (Smith) Myers.

Along with his parents, Dean is preceded in death by his brother Robert Myers and stepfather Frederick Cook.

Those left to cherish Dean's memory include his wife of over 60 years Lieselotte "Lilo" (Albrecht) Myers; son Mark Myers (Debra) of Georgetown, KY; daughter Stefanie Stringer (Shawn) of Maryland Heights, MO; grandchildren: Allen Stringer (Elise Moser), Zane Stringer (Kelly Gorman), Ryan Stringer, Mitchell Stringer (Julie Halveland), Tucker Myers, and Gavin Myers; as well as great-grandson Graham Stringer.

Dean was a US Army veteran, having served from 1960-1962. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tipp City and received his bachelor's degree from Goddard College in Vermont. Dean loved reading mystery novels and enjoyed admiring riverboats and covered bridges. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Piqua, Anthony Masonic Lodge #455 F&AM in Springfield, and worked closely with local chapters of the Salvation Army.

A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dale Schaefer officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the funeral home.
