Richard Elmer “Dick” Reiner, age 90 of Troy, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026 at Vancrest of New Carlisle. He was born July 19, 1936 in Canton to the late Clarence Reiner and Sophie (Kaleja) Reiner.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis E. (Yarnovich) Reiner, who passed away January 2, 2017, as well as son Ricky Reiner and brother and sister-in-law Robert “Bob” Reiner and Sue Reiner.

Those left to cherish Richard’s memory include his daughter Kim Cross of Vandalia and son Eric Reiner (Elizabeth) of Concord, NC; grandchildren Heather James (Logan), Erika Pearman (Benjamin), Ethan Reiner (Rylee), Jonathan Cross, Ellie Reiner, and Emma Jackson (Andrew); great-grandchildren Emerson Pearman, Everett Jackson, Greyson Pearman, and Adelyn Jackson; as well as niece Lynette Reiner-Rowles (Keith) of Canton, and son-in-law Jon Cross of Troy.

Richard was a US Army veteran, having served his country dutifully from 1955-1957. Richard enjoyed spending his time browsing thrift stores and antique shops, always on the lookout for a unique find or hidden treasure. He also loved playing cards and was an excellent cook.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
