Rita Alice Gantz, age 94 of York, PA and formerly of Troy, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Autumn House East Nursing Home in York, PA. She was born January 12, 1923 in Norristown, PA to the late Charles and Alexandria (Pietchowski) Tremont.

Rita is survived by her children: Rick (Teresa) Gantz of Troy, Thomas (Julie) Cox of Peoria, AZ, and Carole (Ray) Schulz of York, PA; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Rita was married to Richard Gantz and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1999. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Elaine, Marie, and Gloria; as well as two brothers: George and Alfonzo.

Rita loved traveling to Hawaii and traveled there numerous times throughout her life. She loved everything about Hawaii. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing things for them and her children. She was a very generous person and never met a stranger. Everyone that met her loved her and she made friends easily. She especially loved spending time with her "special" sister Helen Church going shopping and out to eat.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City with Pastor Greg Simmons officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
