Robert G. Sampson, age 71 of Troy passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born on April 4, 1943 in Bradford to the late Carl and Doris (Schaeffer) Sampson.

He is survived by beloved companion Vickie Davis of Troy, son Brian A. Sampson of Russia, daughter and son-in-law Julie and James D. Noxon of Columbus, OH., grandchildren Andrew, Benjamin and Samuel Noxon, and his extended family Jeffrey A. and Terri Davis of Atlanta, GA., Tracy and Barry Roberts of Springboro, OH.,  extended grandchildren Ashlin Stoltz, Cooper and Skyler Davis, Kara and Karma Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Edward "Bud" Sampson, Bruce Sampson, Carl Sampson and sisters Rebecca Kay Upton and Ethel Maxwell.

He was a 1961 graduate of Bradford High School, was retired from Hobart Brothers, Troy after several years of service and previously was with Dinner Bell, Troy. He was a member of Miami County Moose #2695 of Troy and a Navy Veteran of Vietnam. He enjoyed playing cards,  watching sports and spending time with family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Lauren Allen officiating. Interment to follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington with Military service at graveside by Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
