Ruby Marie Pelfrey, age 86 of Troy, formerly of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Spring Meade Health Center. She was born December 13, 1929 in Troy to the late Glen and Lucille (Trent) Yantis.

Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law Brenda J. Smith of Casstown, and Diane and Gary Novack of Weston, Florida, as well as son and daughter-in-law David and Peggy Smith of Troy. Three grandchildren also survive: Nicholas and Jared Novack, and Payton Smith, as well as four great-grandchildren: Sidney and Pearson Smith, and Alexander and Nathan Novack. Two half-brothers also survive: Jack (Diane) Yantis and Ron (Sharon) Yantis.

Preceding Ruby in death is her beloved husband Jack Pelfrey, as well as brothers Richard, Bobby, Lawrence, Joe and Paul Yantis, and sisters Dorothy Shoup, Helen Yantis-Dunn, Mary Yantis-Frost and Delores Yantis-Wilkerson.

Ruby was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Huber Heights for several years.

A funeral service will be held 12PM Friday February 26, 2016 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Kelly Reagan officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Ruby's honor may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church 5566 Chambersburg Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.  Interment at Casstown Cemetery.
