Shirley Ann Riegert, age 72 of Troy, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at 9:03AM after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her family as she started her journey to be with the Lord. Shirley was born in Celina on February 3, 1945 to the late Ruth May Chapman.

Survivors include daughter Lisa A. Betz (Edward "Ted" Betz), son Michael "Todd" Ely (Christie L. Ely), five grandchildren: Alysia B. Gamble, Jessyca A. Myers, Talon M. Ely, Taner F. Ely, and Caleb H. Betz, three great-grandchildren: Marley, Elijah, and "Mad Max" Maddox, twin sister Sharon S. Warejko (Donnie), brothers Michael D. Chapman (Kelley) and Mark R. Chapman (Shelley), sister Debbie S.A. Anderson (Scott), five nieces, four nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.

Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by husband Richard M. Riegert and nephew Patrick Jason Kittle.

Shirley adored her family and had a special connection to her grandchildren. Her favorite phrase was "hugs and kisses". This phrase emphasized her eternal love for them.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00PM-1:00PM Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family Abuse Shelter of Miami County: 16 E Franklin St, Troy, OH 45373.

The legendary Shirley A. Riegert will forever live in our hearts.
