Steven Lee Shafer, Sr., age 75 of Piqua, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Troy Care and Rehab. He was born April 30, 1946 in Troy to the late Lois Ann Shafer Ward.

In addition to his mother, Steven is preceded in death by his son Justin Shafer and brother Dwaine Ward.

Those left to cherish Steven's memory include his wife Wilma (nee Long) Shafer, whom he married December 10, 1977; his sons Steven Shafer, Jr. (Deanna) of Casstown and Brian Shafer (Farrah) of Sidney;19 grandchildren; brothers Dennis Ward of Piqua and Kelly Ward of Piqua; sister Darlene Cantrell of Piqua; and daughter-in-law Cassandra Bethel.

Steven enjoyed watching westerns and football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. He attended Troy High School.

A funeral service will be held 5:00PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Jerome Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-5:00PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
