Val Gene Jones, age 90 of Tipp City, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born February 3, 1927 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Claude and Ruth (Gullett) Jones.

Val is survived by his son Michael "Mike" Jones of Troy; three daughters: Carla Jones of Tipp City, Cindy (Craig) Consani of Tipp City, and Marsha (Trap) Traphagan of Indianapolis, IN; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He married Lillian D. (Horn) Jones on December 18, 1945 and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2005.

Val was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He graduated from Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, IL and was a member of the Troy Fish and Game Club. He was a retired supervisor from LePaul Oil Co. in Troy.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Friday, January 26, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Parker officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with Military Honors by the Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
