Virgil J. Blevins, 68, of Piqua and formerly of Troy, passed away 7:15 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born in Logan, W.VA on August 14, 1945 to the late Ellis and Florence (Hazelett) Blevins.

Virgil is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Cherryl Blevins of Troy; two brothers and sister-in-law, James Blevins of Troy, Junior and Pam Blevins of Christiansburg; one sister, Alice Evans of Hamilton; one grandson, Tyler Blevins; and his companion, Jackie Godfrey of Troy. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Virgil was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Troy Eagles Auxiliary #971 and of the Troy Fish and Game Club. He retired from Dinner Bell Foods, Troy after several years.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Bob Bell officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
