William H. Dengel, Sr., 82, of Troy, passed away 11:36 a.m. Sunday, January 04, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 30, 1932 to the late Leslie and Ella (Lentz) Dengel. He was married to Nellie Irene Sowards on October 10, 1972, and she survives.

William is also survived by one son, William H. Dengel, Jr. of Troy; one daughter, Melissa Dengel of Cincinnati; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dr. Royce Lummes of Ft. Worth, TX; and also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jackie Dengel; one brother, Les Dengel; and one sister, Jane Parker.

William attended First Lutheran Church, Troy. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from A. O. Smith after 42 years of service.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. Interment will be in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown.
