William E. Griffieth, Sr., 74, of Troy, passed away 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Troy on February 14, 1940 to the late Henry Homer and Myrtle Elizabeth (Shunk) Griffieth.

William is survived by three sons, William Griffieth, Jr. of Ludlow Falls, Richard Griffieth of Urbana, Aaron J. Griffieth of Ludlow Falls; his friend who William was instrumental in his upbringing, Edward Griffieth and his three children, Brynn, Easton, and Addison of Ludlow Falls; one granddaughter, Lydia Griffieth of Middletown; and three sisters, Debbie Knotts of North Ft. Meyers, FL, Patty Englehart of Cordell, GA, and Sarah Abrams of Kissimmee, FL. He was preceded in death by nine brothers, and two sisters.

He was retired from the former Harris Harbor Scrap and Iron Co. in Troy.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
