William E. May, 79, of Sidney and formerly of Troy, died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Sidney Care Center in Sidney.  He was born in McAndrews, Kentucky on March 14, 1935 to George W. and Bertha (Blackburn) May.

William is survived by two daughters, Heidi May of Sidney; Donna Abele of Sidney; a son, Steve May of Fletcher; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Bernice and Richard Cleghon of Huddy, Kentucky; and a longtime friend, John Meyer of Portland, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa May; one son, Tim May; one brother George May, Jr.; and four sisters, Grace Webber, Fern Hall, Thelma May, and Bonnie May.

William was a retired factory laborer and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Only Believe Ministries in Botkins.

William's funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Richard Workman officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery with a graveside military service by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
