Yvonne Antoinette Strong, age 70 of Troy, passed away 2:30AM Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. She was born December 6, 1954 in Troy to the late Julia C. Taylor.

In addition to her mother, Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Pastor Charles E. Strong.

Those left to cherish Yvonne's memory include her children Calvin McKinnon of Troy, Andre McKinnon (fiancé Keili McCoy) of Huber Heights, great nieces she raised Me'Ryah Garrett of Troy, and Sophia Wells of Springfield; grandchildren Dreyonna McKinnon, Soraya McCoy, Amayah Harrison, Syon McCoy, Sage McCoy, Siana McKinnon, Ebony Wells, Jazmynne Cunningham, Kameron Johnson, A'Meriah Herring, and Dai'Lani Garrett; great grandchildren Ellis Johnson and Jalynn Breakall; siblings William Redmon of Piqua, Stephan Redmon of Kettlersville, Howard Taylor of Union, Johnette Taylor of Union, and Sheila Carnes of Troy; as well as a host of extended family and nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was a graduate of Troy High School and attended Edison Community College. She worked for over 20 years with Heywood Elementary and Troy City Schools as a teacher's aide and intervention specialist. She was also a librarian at Troy Public Library for several years.  Yvonne attended Transformed Life Church in Piqua and Zion Baptist Church in Troy. She took pride in her garden and enjoyed watering her plants.

She will be remembered as the backbone of her family. She was their rock and took great pride and joy in taking care of them all, especially her grandchildren. They will miss her baking, her specialties were red velvet cake, chocolate chip cookies, and cheesecake. She will be missed deeply.

A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Friday, August 8, 2025 at Transformed Life Church, Piqua with Bishop Brian T. Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
