Derrick Robert Heckman

Derrick Robert Heckman, age 46 of Troy, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. He was born February 24, 1978 in Troy to Duane and Helen (McFadden) Heckman.

Those left to cherish Derrick’s memory include his mother Helen Heckman of Piqua; his children Harmony Rolf of Troy and Hayden Heckman of Troy; siblings Amy (Bryan) Harvey of Troy, Julie (Ken) Thorpe of Marietta, GA, Joelle McGlohorn of Chapin, SC, Michael (Becky) Heckman of Troy; and Mollie Brown of Troy; as well as several nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Derrick was a 1997 graduate of Troy High School and was a member of Troy Eagles #971 as well as the Ohio Horseman Association. He was an avid horseman. His children were his world and he cherished the time he spent with them. He enjoyed watching his son play baseball and attending his daughter’s band concerts. He was an Ohio sportsman through and through, he loved his Bengals, Reds, and Buckeyes. Derrick worked in retail management most of his life, working for Troy Meijer for 18 years and 10 years at Troy Lowe’s.

A celebration of life will be held 5:00PM-7:00PM Friday, March 8 at the Troy Eagles #971. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
