Donald Clifford Hiser, age 88 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born February 9, 1932 in Piqua to the late Clyde and Lydia (Morey) Hiser.
Donald is survived by his son Mark Hiser of Matthews, NC; daughter Anne Parke (Micheal) of Piqua; two grandchildren: Brent Wills (Chelsea) of Piqua and Stephanie Meyer (Chet) of Troy; three great-grandchildren: Rileigh Wills, Reed Meyer, and Brennan Meyer; as well as brother Earl Hiser (Gayle) of Sidney.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Ann (Dershem) Hiser on January 26, 1997, son Michael Hiser, and brother Marvin Hiser.
Donald was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Troy. He was a 1951 graduate of Staunton High School. Donald was a member of Troy Elks #833 since 1983 and also served as a Trustee. He was also a member of VFW #6557 in Pleasant Hill, American Legion #43, Troy where he was Past Commander, Troy Eagles #971 and Troy Senior Citizens. He retired from Hobart Corporation in 1990 after 39 years as an assembler.
A funeral service will be held 10:30AM Friday, July 17, 2020 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Nate Beaman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-10:30AM prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with Military Honors by the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Miami County.
