Elma Mae Brown

Elma Mae Brown, age 95 of Sidney and formerly of Troy, passed away 9:59AM Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney. She was born December 27, 1927 in Wheeling, WV to the late Carl and Virginia (Tubaugh) Lamka.

Elma was preceded in death by her husband Irvin R. Brown, who passed away October 31, 2016. They were married for 70 years. She was also preceded in death by her sister Letha Lamka.

Those left to cherish Elma’s memory include her son Steven Brown and daughter-in-law Elaine Perri of both Skokie, IL and New Buffalo, MI; two grandchildren Zachary Brown of Northbrook, IL and Kathryn Brown of Wheeling, IL; as well as half brother Marvin Lamka of Troy.

Elma was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Troy and graduated from Lost Creek High School. She was a member of Troy Senior Citizens and AARP. Elma loved to garden and was an avid reader. She was an active resident at Ohio Dorothy Love and was a proud recipient of a pin for 5000 hours of community service accumulated over her time there.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the Riverside Cemetery Chapel, Troy with Hospice Chaplain Josh Krulwich-Klatt officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
