Elmo Boyd, Jr.

Elmo Boyd, Jr., age 90 of Troy, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his residence. He was born February 1, 1931 in Ben Lomond, AK to the late Elmo Boyd, Sr. and Lorena (Nelson) Boyd.
Elmo was preceded in death by his wife Rubye Boyd, who passed away March 17, 2020, as well as 5 brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish Elmo’s memory include sons: Elmo David Boyd “Mo”, Bennie O. Boyd, and Micheal A. Boyd; three daughters: Christa V. Landis (Marty), Mary Jo Boyd (Ben Mitchell), and Leatha K. Self. Elmo is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Jordan and Ryan Boyd, Tyler and Brandon Boyd, Christin and Erinn Landis, Alicia Mitchell, Derek Boyd, Cody Boyd, Trishawna and Anson Block and many great-grandchildren too numerous to mention but not forgotten; special great-grandchildren Tiyanna Boyd, Peyton and Parker Jones, Madysen Doll, and Santana Stone.

Elmo enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gun and knife collector. He also enjoyed sitting on his porch and talking to his neighbors. He worked as a truck driver for many years at Hobart Brothers in Troy.

At Elmo’s request, no services will be held. Memorial donations in his honor may be given to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County: 3730 N. Co. Rd. 25A, Troy.
