Howard J. Cooper, age 94 of Troy, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at StoryPoint of Troy. He was born on April 16, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Clyde and Opal (Miller) Cooper.
In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his loving wife on November 24, 2015, Wanda (Carr) Cooper who he married January 19, 1953 and his sister Delores Binkley.
Those left to cherish Howard’s memory include his daughters, Pam (Dale) Stover of Troy, OH and Mary Beth (Doug) Moore of Troy; four grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Coey, Emily Coey, Tara (Jim) Shank, and Vince (Katie) Stover; and six great grandchildren.
Howard was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of Dayton and retired from B.J. Goodrich where he worked for 17 years as a tool and die maker. He belonged to Troy Baptist Church. He was a member of the Reflexology Association, OAR, RAA, and IAR, he was also certified IIR and ARCB.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor David Thomasson officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. A military service will be held at the graveside by the Veterans Memorial Guard of Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, PO Box 502, Troy, OH 45373.
