Joseph E Cruz

Joseph “Joey” E. Cruz, age 15 of Tipp City, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2023 at his residence in Tipp City. He was born July 23, 2007 in England to Nanette Ramirez Cruz and Anthony D. Cruz.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Lourdes Cruz, Dixon, MO.

Those left to cherish Joey’s memory include his parents, Nanette and Anthony, sister, Sophia, brothers Tyler and Gavin, his maternal grandparents, Edilberto and Linda Ramirez of Biloxi, MS, his fraternal grandfather, Joseph Cruz of Missouri, his Aunt Therese Hell and family of Korea, Aunt Louanna Rawaekklang and family of Tampa, FL, Aunt Beth Hayes and family of Panama City, FL and Uncle Daniel Ramirez and family of Wylie, TX.

Joey completed his sophomore year at Tippecanoe High School and was looking forward to starting his junior year this fall. He loved to travel, take car rides, walking outdoors, and hanging out with his brothers, sister, and his dogs. He loved being around others and listening to music.

The family expresses special thanks to Shriner’s Hospital, Tampa and Dayton Children’s Hospital as well as his loving nurses, Christina Davidson, Shelbie Fackey and Shelby Leonard. Also sincere thanks to all the teachers and staff at Tippecanoe School District and Riverside Miami County Board of Development disabilities team.

Services will be held at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy on Friday, June 30 with visitation from 10:00am-12:00pm. Funeral will begin at 12:00.

For those attending, the family encourages wearing bright colors, such as Hawaiian or aloha shirts, or come dressed casually to celebrate Joey's bright personality.
