Kay Louise (Davenport) Gord, age 81 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, February 15th 2022 at the inpatient Miami County Hospice Center. She was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on March 20th, 1940 to the late Forrest Lester Davenport and Sophia Louise (Bickford) Davenport.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ronald Gord, her eldest son, James Ronald Gord, and two brothers, Ernest and Jerry Davenport.
Kay is survived by two children, Ronda Kay Weldy and Aaron Christopher (Suzanne) Gord; daughter-in-law, Renee Gord; five grandchildren, Alisha Kay (Brenton) Scott, Joseph Ronald (Kirsten) Gord, Chelsea Maria (Chyler) Hastings, Michael Aaron Gord, and Jeffrey Allen (Katy) Gord; five great-grandchildren, Eden Hastings, Evelyn Gord, Henry Gord, Lelianna Scott, and Peter Gord, with two great granddaughters due this spring. She is also survived by one sister, Alice Mary Bintz, and nieces and nephews.
Kay loved her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, writing poetry, painting, taking care of the birds at her feeders, and tending to all her plants. She truly had a green thumb and could bring to life even the most neglected. She also loved baking and many delights were enjoyed by her family. She also loved all of her little pets and rescued many little animals over the years. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.
Private services will be held per family's wishes. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
