William Travis Obituary

William Francis Travis, age 74 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 30, 1946 in Wilbur, KY to the late Roy B. Travis, Sr. and Mildred (Moore) Travis.

Along with his parents, William is preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish William’s memory include his wife Kathy (Smith) Travis, whom he married July 1, 1971; son Brad Travis (Shawna) of Troy; daughters Melissa Brooks (Jeff) of Troy and Katie Travis (fiancé Mica Cupp) of Troy; four grandchildren: Kimberly, Matthew, Allison, and Dorrian; three great-grandchildren: Ava, McKinley, and Mica; as well as eight sisters and three brothers.

William was a graduate of Graham High School in St. Paris. He was an avid bowler and formerly coached little league bowling and boxing leagues. He retired in April 2009 from Hobart Brothers where he was a laborer for 42 years.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
