On March 17, 2020, Ohio Director of Health Dr. Amy Acton ordered a prohibition on mass gatherings of 50 or more people. This order did not apply to funeral homes.
On March 19, 2020 the Board of Directors of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association set guidelines for best practices/procedures in handling funeral services.
We at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home are and have always been dedicated to serving and honoring the families in and around our community. In saying this, we are also dedicated to “flattening the curve” and preventing the spread of this virus to the best of our ability.
On a case-by-case basis, we will still honor the wishes of the families we serve while maintaining proper health protocols to keep our staff and families safe.
If you wish to attend a service at our funeral home, please exercise proper hygiene practices such as washing your hands, covering your mouth with your elbow or tissue when sneezing/coughing, maintaining “social distance” and refrain from hugging/kissing/shaking hands.
If you cannot or do not wish to attend a service, please direct any tributes to the individuals tribute page and we will see the family receives a copy. You may also email any tributes to us directly at email@example.com or simply call with your name and any message you wish to pass along to the family. If you are feeling ill, PLEASE stay home.
We are also working to livestream/record services if permitted by the family.
We are available 24/7 to answer any questions regarding services or practices.
