Cora Horner Obituary

Cora Horner, age 77 was born March 14, 1944 and went to be with our savior and Lord on November 22, 2021. She was the daughter of Harrison and Alta (nee Jackson) Adams who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her loving husband Herman Horner, who passed away September 3, 2014; seven brothers: William Harrison “Red”, Earnest, Raymond, Richard, Frank “Beano”, James, and Bobby Adams; and two sisters: Opal Adams and Flora (nee Adams) Craft.

Those left to cherish Cora’s memory include her daughter Judy (Clark) Wagner; son David Horner; and grandson Jeremy (Heather) Wagner. Also surviving are siblings Lora Larck, Carl (Bonnie) Adams, and Florence Kennedy; sisters-in-law Sue Adams and Edith Horner; special friend of 58 years Jeri Hughes; and many nieces and nephews.

Cora had a very loving and forgiving heart and always wanted to help those in need. She always found good in everyone she knew and met. She enjoyed dancing and singing and taking trips to Tennessee with her daughter. She loved to tell stories about her motorcycle trips with Herman. Summer was her favorite time of year. You could always count on her spending time working in her garden to share her vegetables with her family, friends, neighbors, the ‘Waffle House Girls”, and the food pantries. Going out to eat, get-togethers with family and friends, cookouts at the lake, listening to Jeri recite her newest poem, and spending time with her children and grandchildren were the highlights of her life. She loved us all so much.

Cora attended Christiansburg-Jackson School and was retired from Kimberly Clark/Spinnaker Coating in Troy.
