Eugene "Gene" Criner

Eugene “Gene” Criner, age 63 of Florence, KY and formerly of Troy, passed away 6:38pm Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was born July 23, 1960 in Troy to the late Jim L. and Mattie Lee (Draper) Criner.

Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother Doug Criner and brother-in-law Dwight Clay.

Those left to cherish Gene’s memory include his wife Tracy (Rife) Criner; son Corrie Criner (Brandi) of Independence, KY; brothers Jimmy Criner (Barbara) of Troy and Ray Criner (Penny) of Troy; sister Barbara Clay of Troy; grandchildren Corrie Jr. “CJ”, Elijah, and Shyla; as well as sister-in-law Cheryl Criner of Dayton.

Gene was a 1979 graduate of Troy High School. He and his wife Tracy attended First Baptist Church in Elsmere, KY. Gene worked as a warehouse coordinator for ITW in Kentucky for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and excelled at both. He loved traveling with his wife to Florida and relished the time he spent with his family, especially spoiling his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Donny Carter with First Baptist Church, Elsmere, KY officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
