Vivian Louise Williams, age 81 of Troy, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Troy. She was born in Troy on April 26, 1940 to the late Frank Winchester Lewis and Lula (Greene) Lewis.
In addition to her parents, Vivian is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Maurice Williams, who passed away in 2006; two daughters, Cynthia Byrd Jones and Leisa Byrd; six sisters, Rosetta Rogers, Maymie Godsey, Thelma Lewis Alexander, Janet Lewis, Mary Stewart and Evelyn Lewis Gibbs; and three brothers, Marshall Lewis, James Robert Lewis and Torrence Lewis.
Those left to cherish Vivians memory include her three sons, James Byrd, Vernon “Jeff” Byrd and Gregory Byrd all of Troy; daughter, Audra (Doug) “Joey” Taylor of Troy; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandchildren she raised as her own and family and friends.
Vivi an was a member of Zion Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized in 2003. She attended Caring Community Women at St. James Community Church. She loved her scratch off tickets, socializing with her family especially her grandchildren, cooking and going out to eat. She loved to travel the neighborhood loop especially “Hollywood” Slab town and her old childhood home Hilltop. She was also a daycare provider for many years. Her home was a safe haven for anyone who needed help or assistance.
Vivian attended Troy High School and later obtained her GED and went on to get her Associates degree in Human Services from Edison State Community College in Piqua, OH in 1988. She worked for Miami County Residential Services where she retired from.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Vickie Evans officiating. A visitation will be held prior from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
